1/31/12-Something Historical–Young Dodgers–June 7,2006

Never thought I would call this historical since it felt like only yesterday that I shot it, but here are Joel Guzman, Jonathan Broxton, Willie Aybar, Russell Martin, Matt Kemp and Andre Ethier taken June 7, 2006.  Time flies….      © Jon SooHoo/Los Angeles Dodgers

1/28/12-Something Historical-Vin Scully in the Green Monster-June 11,2004

In a rare visit to play the Red Sox in Boston, Vin Scully  looks out at Fenway Park from within the Green Monster June 11, 2004. This was one of my favorite moments as Dodgers Team Photographer.  © Jon SooHoo/Los Angeles Dodgers

1/27/12-Something Historical-Dodgers First Full Squad Workout-February 19,1998

Dodgers jog during the first full squad workout for 1998 at Vero Beach, Florida. Nothing is better for historical photographs than being able to shoot the big league team in big league  home white uniforms. And on the first day of workouts, home whites were always worn.    © Jon SooHoo/ Los Angeles Dodgers

1/27/12-Something Historical–Favorite People at Dodger Stadium-1993

Two of my favorite people at Dodger Stadium over the years were these two ushers…Reuben Gutierrez and Eddie Becerril taken in 1993. Although Reuben has passed on, his wife Vicky still works the stadium as an usher and used to watch over the photo wells for us photographers making sure our equipment was safe. I don’t know if I ever photographed them together (as she worked the first base photo well and he worked the third base photo well) but as I look through the files, I hope to run across one of them together that I can someday publish.

1/26/12-Something Historical—Late 1980’s-Vin Scully Interviews Tommy Lasorda at the Old Busch Stadium

Vin Scully interviews Tommy Lasorda at the old Busch Stadium in St. Louis during the late 80’s. Boyd Robertson oversees the interview as he still does for Vin.  The old stadium was one of the prettiest to photograph with those archways at the top. Late day shadows made some gorgeous designs on the field. It was also one of the hottest off that carpet when we visited usually in June or July.     © Jon SooHoo/Los Angeles Dodgers

1/25/12-Something Historical—Ted Williams speaks to the Dodgers-March 2000

A special visit to Dodgertown by Ted Williams brought everyone in camp to the home clubhouse.  Shawn Green (L to R),  Tom Lasorda Ross Porter, Bob Daly, Bruce Froemming, Craig Callan and Davey Johnson. He spoke to the ball club about hitting and his life experiences then boarded a private plane from Vero Beach Airport back to Ocala.  At the airport assuming I was going to be taking photos from the ground of the them departing, Tommy screamed for me to get on board. So I joined Tommy,  Public Relations Assistant Ruth Ruiz on this private plane to drop off Mr Williams. Thanks Tommy….Truly a real cool experience.    © Jon SooHoo/Los Angeles Dodgers
