Thanks to Mike Brown for putting this tournament on. These were the only game images I took as left field was mine. Blogger Jon Weisman took our team photo. © Jon SooHoo
2/10/12-Something Historical-Indy 500 Champion Helio Castroneves visits Andy Ashby in the clubhouse–August 2001
Helio Castroneves shows off his ring for winning the Indy 500 back in 2001 to pitcher Andy Ashby. Cross promotions with other sports teams and venues are always fun since athletes sometimes get to experience something different. Since I shoot for the California Speedway (now Auto Club Speedway) and through then Speedway PR boss Dennis Bickmeier, I was able to arrange our pitcher Andy Ashby a chance to ride around the California Speedway in an open wheel two seater to experience the speed that Castroneves experiences every race. Images of his experience will be for another blog entry. © Jon SooHoo/Los Angeles Dodgers
This image has always been one of my favorites. I was looking for something different to shoot on this Fireworks Night in 2004 other than the obvious fireworks. As the fireworks were blowing off, the bright colors that were emitted beyond the pavillions were lighting the stadium with a wonderful glow all the way up the elevator tower. With my Canon EOS MarkII camera and 14mm mounted on a tripod, I found this angle and lowered down to include the mound. As the show went on longer, smoke started blowing over the stadium seating area which happened to add to the image. © Jon SooHoo/Los Angeles Dodgers
I took this photo of Maury Wills and the late Joe Black prior to game against the Diamondbacks at Bank One Ballpark back in June of 2001.
My favorite feature of this ballpark is the afternoon light that hits the dugout during our batting practice making beautiful light on subjects.I couldn’t pass this photo up. Back then, the dugout was purple. Now it is painted a deep rich red that is absolutely beautiful.
This was my first season of shooting digital (Nikon D1) compared to film only. Actually half of the time was digital and half film. Now it is 100% digital. After a short period switching from Nikon to Canon, I am back to shooting Nikon which will hopefully be the last time I switch complete systems.

Heading to Philadelphia for play off games against the Phillies in 2008, Tommy had cars waiting to take some of the traveling party to Norristown for dinner. At his hometown were three of his four brothers along with a whole room of residents welcoming Tommy home. The sheriff of Norristown is in the background. Highlight of this trip for me was trying Limoncello for the first time ever…WOW! © Jon SooHoo/Los Angeles Dodgers
Blake Griffin and Matt Kemp hang out in the dugout prior to game against the Diamondbacks September 2, 2009. Rarely does anyone make Kemp look small but Griffin does. © Jon SooHoo/Los Angeles Dodgers
This is not the most recent dunk against the Oklahoma City Thunder that has been seen all over the internet. This dunk was another incredible “Blake Griffin Special” as his head was literally on the other side of the back board when he threw it down last season against the Bulls. © Jon SooHoo/2010
