3/31/12-Something Historical-Sandy Koufax and Orel-Mid 1990’s-Photography by Jon SooHoo/Los Angeles Dodgers

I asked the legendary Dr. Frank Jobe how he got Sandy Koufax to be in uniform for his fantasy camp in the 90’s. According to Jobe, he was standing over Koufax with tools in hands about to do surgery on him and right before he went under, Jobe asked him if he would attend his first ever fantasy camp for doctors. Koufax wisely agreed and the result for me was a wonderful session with Koufax and Hershiser. This is one of the coolest images from the shoot. I am not sure if Orel was throwing to anyone but the late day light filled under their caps with gorgeous sunlight and the deep, rich colors shot on Fujichrome 100D made for a wonderful image. This session was done on the mounds of the strings area at Dodgertown in Vero Beach, Florida. Shot with Mamiya RZ67. Other images from this shoot will presented down the road.  © Jon SooHoo/Los Angeles Dodgers

What a wonderful shot! love love love it! If I knew Sandy would be at Fantasy camp, I would so get in shape to take that fantasy camp and don’t look bad trying to play. 🙂
