3/27/12-Something Historical–Hosted by Brett Butler-1996-Photography by Jon SooHoo/Los Angeles Dodgers
After a day game in Atlanta back in 1996, Brett Butler hosted dinner at his beautiful mansion somewhere away from downtown and I was fortunate enough to be invited. I brought my Pentax 67 as my camera of choice in case a photo op occurred. In this photo are….Darren Hall, Juan Castro, Brett Butler, Jerry Bertiotti, Mike Busch, Billy Ashley, Jay Lucas, Dave Hansen, Joey Eishen and Todd Hollandsworth. © Jon SooHoo/Los Angeles Dodgers

When I ran across these medium format chromes that I took with my Pentax 67 a long time ago, I couldn’t pass up sharing these today since I can count on some grief from them about publishing them here. Dave Hansen, Manny Mota and Tim Wallach each posed for me in the 90′s. © Jon SooHoo/Los Angeles Dodgers

3/22/12-Something Historical–Team Travel Early 2000s with Leica M6-Photography by Jon SooHoo/Los Angeles Dodgers
I bought my first Leica in 2000…an M6 with 35/2 lens and shot behind the scenes in black and white film. Between the lines is only so interesting photographically that I wanted something else. Given my access by the organization, I felt it important that I record Dodgers life off the field as well. I learned this by watching my friend Michael Zagaris, team photographer of the San Francisco 49ers and Oakland A’s and all of his behind the scenes black and white images of the 49ers during the Joe Montana, Jerry Rice era. Baseball is such a long season and anything I can do the capture the organization in a different light I will.

As much fun as it is to photograph our players on the field, I find as much joy in shooting everyone else along the way since it is a history of humans I want to record. These behind the scenes will continue as long as I am allowed to.
With tremendous regret I have moved on from the film Leica M6 to the digital Leica M9. To keep up with the hungry needs of our impatient society who crave immediate viewing of everything through social media, I can no longer have film sit in the can until I return from road trip. I hope to return to shooting black and white film someday….but not really. I wouldn’t know how to shoot a camera without being able to look at the back of it for review. JS
3/21/12-Something Historical–Worrell Brothers 1997-Photography by Jon SooHoo/Los Angeles Dodgers
Since the Padres play here at Camelback today, I am putting up a couple images of the Worrell Brothers, Todd and Tim from 1997. One photo was from the Hall of Fame game in Cooperstown and the other was from Dodger Stadium with their father. That was the coolest jacket that their father wore. On the back Worrell was split between the two team’s lettering. That was all fine until Tim ended up with the Giants. © Jon SooHoo/Los Angeles Dodgers
