12/3/12-Something Historical-Rest In Peace-“Super Dave” David Wright-Photography by Jon SooHoo/©Los Angeles Dodgers,LLC 2012

I just heard about the passing of my friend and longtime Dodgers equipment man “Super Dave”  David Wright. David worked under head equipment man Nobe Kawano then became in charge around 1990ish. The torch was eventually passed on to current head equipment man Mitch Poole.

I was fortunate enough to be able to get the three of them together for a portrait in August of 2007

This is pretty historic as this is all of Los Angeles Dodgers Head Equipment Men since coming to Los Angeles. Mitch Poole (L to R), Nobe Kawano and David Wright.

In 2012, I was able to get a photo of David with one his favorite Dodger players Mike Scioscia.

I had the opportunity to meet and have dinner with Dave a number of years. I also remember Dave arranging a meeting between me and Fernando. A night I will never forget.

Super Dave will be so missed – the Gott family is deeply saddened by this news. Super Dave always had a smile on his face and touched so many lives. Much love from Jim & Cathy Gott

Rest in peace Dave.
THose are beautiful pictures Jon. Very nice that you were able to capture those moments.

Super Dave was the best of the best and will be greatly missed. He helped me through cancer and I will always remember him with a smile. I would like to send my respects to the familty if anyone has information.

“Brother David” I was really looking forward to seeing you again next year at our 50th H.S. reunion. The world has lost another good one. Maybe you can organize your own reunion up there with all the other classmates we’ve lost. You will be missed.
“Brother Frank”

Dave was a true friend I had talked to him just two days before telling me he was going back home, what a shock.Dave invited me to come to meet him around the 4th of July week to come out to be with him and to cut some hair.Dave always put you first, would do things so you could bring home memories.I will miss him,a true friend. May God hold you in His arms

I just returned from Dave’s funeral in MA this evening. A wonderful tribute to a wonderful man. My father “John The Barber” was a very close friend of Dave’s from his hometown of Halifax, MA. My father had the privilege of knowing Dave. He would often travel with the Dodgers and hangout with Dave…cutting hair and living the life Dave so cherished. So many wonderful stories of his experiences from Dodger Blue. Dave will certainly be missed.

To John The Barber. Thank You for everything. Not the same organization after the O’Malleys. We will really Miss Super Dave.

I am so very sad to hear this news!! I hadn’t talked to David in several months! I was dealing with my Dad’s passing and the last time I saw David was at my father’s funeral!!
I called his home and his phone was disconnected! I knew something was wrong!!
David was the kindest person!! We went out often and he taught me so much about honesty, trust, kindness!! He was so very good to my Dad! He tried to help everyone!! I know that God has him in the palm of his hand and he is with The Lord!! I love you, David and will miss you forever!! May The Peace of The Lord Be With You Always!!❤❤❤
