In what was one of the busiest Saturdays I can remember with Dodgers visiting all over the city, Juan Ocampo covered Ned Colletti during LA Rotary’s Angel City Christmas at Algin Sutton Recreation Center in Los Angeles during the morning then Tommy Lasorda and Steve Yeager at Century City Mall for the Dodgers Westfield Mall Tour. Patrick Gee covered the Dreamfield dedication with Wes Parker, Dennis Powell and Derrell Thomas at the Roy Campanella Park in Compton. I met up with Lee Lacy for the Echo Park Parade in the morning then photographed Adrian Gonzalez giving away toys at the East Los Angeles Toy Giveaway at the East LA Civic Center.

The Los Angeles Dodgers receive the 2013 Disability Rights in Sports Award at this year’s Franklin D. Roosevelt Dinner on November 13th. The Disability Rights in Sports Award honors an athlete, team, or organization that represents the inclusion of people with all types of disabilities in sports. This year the nominating committee selected The Los Angeles Dodgers for their cooperative measures to ensure that the new construction at the stadium was accessible, both physically and in spirit, to visitors with disabilities. The Los Angeles Dodgers’ extraordinary efforts will make the iconic stadium a welcome destination for all who wish to witness a great team, with a noble history supporting civil liberties, engage in American’s favorite pastime.
